My Approach In working with individuals, couples, and groups, my therapy style is relaxed and collaborative, and my goal is to help you to feel empowered in the face of your distress. I generally believe that everyone can benefit from therapy at some point in their lives, and I see this work as not only a way to get through a crisis or reduce a symptom, but as a path toward developing a better toolkit for managing obstacles in the future. I use research-informed treatment strategies, and work from a perspective that integrates cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, and mindfulness approaches.
My goals for therapy include:
helping you to experience less stress, pressure, and overwhelm in your daily life
collaboratively figuring out what is happening under the surface, and exploring the ways in which that might be adding to your distress or preventing you from feeling better
building up your resilience and increasing your effectiveness at managing internal or external stressors so that you can be fully engaged and effective in all areas of your life
using research-informed techniques and a customized treatment plan to help you feel better as quickly as possible.
